Why Testify Photography?

I started Testify Photography so that I could be the type of photographer I’d always wanted for my family - a trail guide to document our family adventures.

It’s not easy to load the kids and all of the gear and get through the whining and extra potty stops to make a family adventure happen… we do it because we love to adventure together. And we want our kids to love it, too.

I can’t think of a better way to help our kids remember these childhood adventures than having beautiful, heirloom-quality photographs and albums throughout our home for them to see and touch while we retell the stories. And videos, so they can watch themselves over and over.

I want the same for your family - an awesome Family Adventure and heirloom quality custom art to document it! This is why I like to call my offerings “Family Adventure Sessions.” I will guide your family through each step of the way - from planning the adventure that fits your family (from baking to trekking); to documenting the goodness - focussing on your family’s interactions and all.the.feelings - while you enjoy your Family Adventure; to helping you select heirloom quality photographic products to document your Family Adventure!

As I’ve met and worked with families over time, I’ve also come to appreciate that sometimes you really just need a professional portrait that displays your unique personality and style - from an extra-large individual print for each child in the family or for adults who need a social or business headshot. I now offer personality-driven portrait mini-sessions, where we will help to show off your style in a way that is flattering, but true to you and your personality. No artificial cheese, no heavy photoshop filters, just flattering lighting, natural expressions and light editing so you look like you in your photographs. Really, it’s finally time to update that 10-year old, fake-serious business headshot! (Is that just me?)

A Family Adventure Photography Session isn’t just for you epic explorers out there (though I’m totally down to adventure with you too)!

I truly value my time and experiences with my family, and I aim to make each one of my Family Adventure Photography Sessions an opportunity for you to enjoy a special experience with your family.

A Family Adventure Session might be Right for your Family if…

1. Life is busy, and a family photography session never makes it to the top of your to-do list;

2. Your kids don’t like to stand still and smile for the camera - or YOU don’t;

But… my mom wants a picture of us all smiling

Here’s how we make sure that you get the “grandma picture” you need out of your photography session!

I spend most of the time taking pictures of you enjoying your family adventure, but I also include time for a few more traditional “portraits” during your session. During the portrait time, I will give you a little more direction to make sure we get everyone in the picture and maybe even smiling… or toddler-pouting. Because toddlers.

And, grandma might surprise you by choosing the picture of your kid swimming in a mud puddle. 

Our family is so busy

The thing about doing a family adventure photography session is that you do NOT have to schedule ONE.MORE.THING.

You do NOT have to buy special coordinated outfits.

You do NOT have to get your children to stand still and smile.

The goal is to get pictures of your family actually enjoying your family adventure, hanging with the people you love and doing the things that you love.

My focus is on your family’s interaction, making beautiful portraits of the what is meaningful to you, portraits you can hand down to your children some day to remind them how you schlepped all of their stuff on their camping trip and let them get sticky marshmallows all over - or how they sent a line while they were still in pull-ups. Because that’s the stuff that you really want them to remember!
